The Bizopen Diamond Bur Pointed Cone 294-012 Standard Grit provides the converging conical geometry used for cusp tip preparation, fissure sealant bed creation, and narrow groove preparation where the pointed tip geometry provides precise access to anatomical features that wider instruments cannot enter without excessive adjacent tissue involvement. The pointed cone — a straight-sided cone converging from 1.2 mm base diameter to a sharply pointed 0.1 mm tip — can be positioned with its long axis directed into fissures and grooves for precise enamel preparation at the base of the fissure without lateral enamel removal outside the fissure walls. Bizopen’s 180 grit standard diamond coating covers the full conical working surface from the tip through the base diameter, providing cutting capability at every depth within the cone’s reach. The cone geometry is used for cusp tip reduction in bite adjustment procedures — the tip and narrow upper cone can access the steep cusp incline face without the instrument body contacting and reducing the adjacent functional cusp incline. The pointed cone is also used for preparation of oval rather than circular fissure sealant beds in teeth with narrow elongated fissure anatomy where a round or cylindrical bur would over-prepare the fissure width.
