The Bizopen Diamond Bur Wheel Shape 909-040 Standard Grit is a disc-form diamond instrument used for occlusal reduction, cusp reduction, and finishing of flat occlusal surfaces where the large-diameter flat working face provides maximum surface contact in a single stroke. The 4.0 mm diameter disc geometry allows broad-area occlusal reduction in two to three strokes across a full molar occlusal surface, significantly reducing the number of instrument strokes and total preparation time compared to using narrower cylindrical or tapered burs for the same reduction. Bizopen’s 180 grit standard diamond coating covers both flat disc faces and the rim edge of the wheel, enabling both flat occlusal surface reduction from the face and circumferential ridge preparation from the rim in the same instrument. The wheel geometry is particularly effective for preparing the occlusal table of posterior crown preparations, establishing the required 1.5 to 2.0 mm of occlusal reduction in a controlled, even depth across the full occlusal surface without the uneven reduction depth that can result from using the tip of a cylindrical instrument. The thin rim profile — 1.2 mm edge width — allows the wheel to access fissure anatomy and complete fissure extension without excessive removal of adjacent cusp structure. The wheel bur is also indicated for creating depth guide grooves across the occlusal surface at the beginning of crown preparation to guide uniform reduction depth. FG shank. ISO 806 314 195 524 040. Disc diameter: 4.0 mm. Rim thickness: 1.2 mm.
