The Bizopen Diamond Bur Tapered Fissure 847-018 Coarse Grit is the high-speed reduction instrument in Bizopen’s crown preparation bur sequence — designed as the first instrument used in the two-step crown preparation protocol where coarse-grit rapid reduction is followed by standard or fine grit surface refinement and margin definition. The 1.8 mm maximum diameter tapered body carries Bizopen’s 100 grit coarse diamond coating, enabling axial reduction rates that significantly exceed what standard grit preparation instruments can achieve on full-coverage crown preparations. In a typical full-crown preparation requiring 1.5 to 2.0 mm of buccal axial reduction, the 847-018 completes the bulk of this reduction in two to three axial strokes before the standard grit finishing instrument is used for final surface quality and margin definition. The coarse diamond particle layer is electroplated at greater depth than standard grit to account for the higher mechanical loads that coarse cutting under heavier pressure generates, maintaining particle retention integrity through equivalent clinical use cycles. The 6-degree taper angle maintains the standard draft geometry through the coarse and standard preparation steps, ensuring that the switch from bulk reduction to surface refinement does not alter the overall taper established in the initial preparation phase. FG shank. ISO 806 314 110 524 018. Maximum head diameter: 1.8 mm.
