The Bizopen Diamond Bur Egg Shape 379-014 Standard Grit provides the rounded ovoid geometry used for occlusal adjustment, cusp rounding, and bite equilibration procedures where the curved working surface must contact anatomically complex occlusal tooth geometry without creating flat spots or sharp edges. The egg or ellipsoid geometry — wider at the base and narrowing to a rounded point — allows the practitioner to work in anatomical fissures and cusp inclines simultaneously with a single instrument, following the natural tooth surface contours without the geometric constraints of flat-end or straight-sided instruments. Bizopen’s 180 grit standard diamond coating covers the full egg-shaped working head, maintaining cutting capability from the pointed tip through the full equatorial width of the ovoid. The 1.4 mm maximum diameter at the widest body point provides the contact area needed for efficient material removal on cusp surfaces during bite adjustment procedures while allowing access to fissure areas with the narrower pointed tip. The egg geometry is also widely used for occlusal surface recontouring after amalgam or composite restorations to restore the anatomical cusp-fossa relationships that the flat restoration surface initially lacks. The rounded overall profile reduces the risk of over-reduction that flat-faced instruments can produce when inadvertently pressed flat against an anatomical cusp incline. FG shank. ISO 806 314 198 524 014. Maximum diameter: 1.4 mm. Overall working length: 4.5 mm.
