The Bizopen Diamond Bur Contra Angle Round 801-010 Standard Grit is manufactured on a RA (right angle / latch-type) shank for use with slow-speed contra angle handpiece attachments operating at 10,000 to 40,000 RPM — extending diamond bur use to the slow-speed handpiece that many practitioners prefer for cavity preparation in primary teeth, for endodontic access cavity preparation, and for intraoral adjustment procedures where the high rotational speed of turbine handpieces is not required or preferred. The 1.0 mm round head carries the same 180 grit standard diamond coating specification as Bizopen’s FG-shank equivalent — providing the same preparation geometry and surface quality from the slow-speed contra angle that turbine-speed instruments deliver. RA-shank diamond burs are the preferred instrument for pediatric cavity preparation where the lower operational speed of the slow-speed handpiece is better tolerated by child patients than the noise and vibration characteristics of high-speed turbines.
