The Bizopen Diamond Bur Spiral Groove 379-016 Standard Grit is a unique spiral-channeled diamond instrument designed to improve water-coolant evacuation and cutting debris removal from the preparation zone during deep cavity preparation, significantly reducing the risk of preparation overheating when the bur works at depth where standard smooth-sided bur heads can trap cutting debris against the preparation wall and reduce coolant access to the cutting surface. The spiral groove — a helical channel machined into the cylindrical body of the bur — creates an active debris-evacuation path along the bur surface as the instrument rotates, continuously directing cutting particles and irrigant fluid away from the cutting zone and up the spiral channel toward the preparation opening where evacuation is efficient. Bizopen’s 180 grit standard diamond coating is applied to the raised spiral ridges of the bur body — the diamond-bearing surfaces — with the spiral channels left clear to function as evacuation pathways. The result is a bur that maintains cutting efficiency in deep preparation zones where debris accumulation would otherwise slow a standard smooth-body bur by coating its cutting surface with non-evacuated particles. The spiral groove geometry is particularly valuable for deep preparation access in heavily carious teeth where the access depth may exceed 5 mm before the floor of the preparation is reached.
