The Bizopen Diamond Bur Torpedo 379-014 Standard Grit combines the elongated oval torpedo geometry with Bizopen’s standard 180 grit diamond coating to produce a versatile instrument for chamfer finish line preparation, axial surface contouring, and margin definition in both anterior and posterior crown preparations. The torpedo geometry — a spindle-shaped ovoid with rounded ends — is designed to produce chamfer finish lines without the sharp internal angles that cylinder or tapered fissure bur geometries create at the transition between axial wall and finish line. The rounded torpedo ends flow into a chamfer that provides 1.0 to 1.2 mm of material support at the restoration margin — the minimum chamfer width required for adequate porcelain thickness support in ceramic crown fabrication without the bulk of a shoulder margin that requires greater axial reduction depth. At 1.4 mm maximum body diameter, the torpedo provides the access geometry needed for subgingival chamfer preparation when the preparation margin is placed 0.5 to 1.0 mm below the gingival crest. The rounded mid-body contour helps guide the chamfer preparation at a consistent depth with a rolling motion along the preparation margin, reducing the practitioner effort required to maintain uniform margin depth around the complete preparation circumference. FG shank. ISO 806 314 196 524 014. Maximum body diameter: 1.4 mm. Working length: 5.5 mm.
