The Bizopen Diamond Bur Cylinder Flat End 836-012 Coarse Grit is the primary bulk reduction instrument for shoulder margin preparation and flat-floored box preparation where maximum material removal speed is required in the initial preparation phase. The 1.2 mm diameter flat end cylinder with 100 grit coarse diamond coating removes enamel and dentin at the highest rate of any instrument in Bizopen’s cylinder bur range, establishing the preparation floor and axial wall geometry in significantly fewer instrument strokes than standard or fine grit equivalents. Coarse flat end cylinders are the instrument of choice for the initial entry stroke in deep Class II proximal box preparation where the proximal wall must be reduced to sub-gingival depth — the combination of flat end geometry and coarse diamond aggressiveness allows the box floor to be established at the correct depth in two to three vertical strokes. The coarse grit surface left by the 836-012 serves as an adequate foundation for subsequent standard grit finishing with the equivalent standard grit flat end cylinder, which removes the coarse scratch pattern from the preparation wall surface and refines the marginal geometry. The coarse cylinder is also used for initial occlusal reduction in posterior crown preparations as a guide groove instrument — placing depth guide cuts at regular intervals across the occlusal surface to control the final reduction depth of subsequent surface reduction. FG shank. ISO 806 314 107 524 012. Working diameter: 1.2 mm. Working length: 4.0 mm.
