The Bizopen Diamond Bur Inverted Cone 007-010 Standard Grit delivers the undercut preparation geometry required for mechanical retention in indirect inlay and onlay preparations where the preparation design depends on mechanical interlocking rather than adhesive bonding alone. The inverted cone geometry — a truncated cone shape wider at the base than the neck — creates divergent internal walls when the bur is used in a vertical preparation stroke, establishing the mechanical undercut at the gingival floor level that traditional inlay preparations incorporate for retention of cast metal restorations. Bizopen’s 180 grit diamond coating covers both the conical working surface and the flat base of the inverted cone, enabling simultaneous floor preparation and lateral wall undercut creation in a single instrument position. The 1.0 mm base diameter and 0.8 mm neck diameter create a 10-degree divergence that provides substantial mechanical retention without requiring excessive tooth structure removal to establish the geometry. The inverted cone is also used for box preparation in Class II preparations where the proximal box floor width must exceed the box opening width to create the gingival retention form that locks the restoration against occlusal displacement. The flat top face of the inverted cone creates the gingival floor perpendicular to the path of draw when used with vertical strokes. FG shank. ISO 806 314 012 524 010. Base diameter: 1.0 mm. Neck diameter: 0.8 mm.
